Sustainability statement

Every page view uses energy. Here is how we build lighter, lower-carbon websites.

Our approach

Websites use energy in data centres, across networks and on the device in your hand. Lighter, faster websites use less, and they work better for visitors too.

How we build lighter websites

  • We set a performance budget at the start of every project.
  • Images are sized for each device and served in modern formats.
  • We avoid unnecessary scripts, plugins and tracking.
  • We cache pages and serve them close to visitors.

Hosting

Where we can, we choose hosting providers that publish their renewable energy and emissions data. [Add your hosting providers and their commitments.]

Measuring

We check page weight and estimated emissions with tools such as the Website Carbon Calculator, and follow the Web Sustainability Guidelines from the W3C’s Sustainable Web Design Community Group where they apply.

Our own operations

[Add how Digifinch reduces its own footprint, for example remote working, reusing equipment or choosing suppliers.]
